The Perks of Being an American

You know, there are a lot of perks to being a United States citizen. Not only can be as arrogant as we like, but we truly believe the rest of the world thinks we're top dog. It's great, isn't it? Wherever we go, there is a U.S. embassy waiting to take our order (or was the McDonald's?). We can get our visas approved, our passports replaced, and enjoy a little piece of home in the middle of a foreign country, such as Indonesia. Life is good so long as our American embassy is backing us up.

You will need to fill out some forms and you need to prove that you're actually doing what you say you're going to do. And even then, you will still need to pay taxes back to the United States. No matter where you do, the tax man doth follow.

You have the opportunity to not only have new experiences and meet new people, but also to do a heck of a lot more paperwork in order to get over the border. Don't go to the creepy hotel or to the hostel with the guy or girl that's way too good looking to be true and wants to sell you to the Russians.
