About the U.S. AAO, Jakarta-Indonesia

AGRICULTURAL AFFAIRS OFFICE

The Agricultural Affairs Office (AAO) in Jakarta works closely with importers, trade promotion , organizations, and Government of Indonesia (GOI) officials to increase the sale of U.S. agricultural products to Indonesia. The AAO specialist in various commodity areas can provide basic information and advice regarding production, supply and demand of commodities and their Indonesian tariffs, non-tariffs barriers, regulations, and other aspects of the Indonesian market. The AAO works with bulk and intermediate commodity groups and handles most of the commodity reporting and trade policy issues. For information on high valued food products, please contact the U.S. ATO Jakarta.

MARKET RESEARCH and INFORMATION

The AAO periodically carries out studies in areas of broad interest to the U.S. agricultural export community, such as cotton, grains, oilseeds, poultry, rice, etc. Most of these can be acquired free of charge upon request; others are available for a nominal fee. The AAO can provide background information on many major aspects of the Indonesian market, and suggest approaches U.S. firms and associations might follow in conducting their own research into their product's sales potential.

IMPORTER LIST
The AAO can supply U.S. exporters a general list of Importing firms for a particular commodity.

BRIEFING for TRADERS and TRADE DELEGATIONS
Each year the AAO staff briefs several hundred visitors on subjects related to the Indonesian agricultural market. Please contact  the AAO for an appointment. Scheduling of trade appointments is available, for a nominal fee, from the State Trade Regional Groups under a program called the Market Access Program (MAP).

The library contains directories, statistical briefs, reports, and a number of brochures and catalogs of U.S. companies. Firms interested in providing the library with information regarding their firm or products are invited to contact the AAO.
