The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Engineer in the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The incumbent, under the task order, provides services in support of the Contingency Engineer, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific and the overall operational objectives of the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) U.S. Embassy-Jakarta, Indonesia. S/He assists the HA Planner (ODC), and NAVFAC Pacific Site Thailand Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC), the NAVFAC Pacific Program Managers, and the U.S. Government representatives at the U.S. Embassy Jakarta by providing Engineer services and deliverables through performance of on-site Program Specialist duties on a full-time basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Bachelor Degree (S1) in Engineering with a background in construction is required.
2. At least one (1) year experience in a similar field management position or managing contractors for government-funded program is required.
3. Level IV (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
4. Must demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically.
5. Must have the capacity in building experience both individual and institutionally, able to live and work in harsh isolated environments and travel frequently. Also able to multitask, handle pressure well, improvise and flexible.
