The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Maintenance Foreman (Pos. No: C52607) in the General Services Office (GSO).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

Under direct supervision of Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent supervises and directs a multi trade work force of thirty tradesmen in the Building Maintenance Unit relating to construction, repair and preventive maintenance of U.S. government owned or leased properties.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Completion of secondary education or completion of an approved apprenticeship or trade school program in one of the building trades as well as demonstrable general knowledge of several other trades is required.

2. At least four (4) years of trade experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience are required.

3. Level III (good working knowledge) in English and Bahasa are required.

4. Must have knowledge of established construction procedures and practices, as well as proper planning and scheduling methods.

5. Must have knowledge of architectural and building designs, symbols, drawings, and specifications, and the ability to transcribe that knowledge.
