The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Visa Assistant (Pos. No: C31012) in the Consular Section.

 

 

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent assists with the processing of Diversity Visa “Green Card Lottery” applications. S/he assists works to promote the Diversity Visa Lottery Program through public outreach campaigns to Indonesians, speaking to school and civic groups, developing publicity materials, translating information from English into Indonesian, and working with applicants to apply for the Program. The incumbent will also process all DV Applications, preparing cases for officer interview and approval, screening documents for DV applicants, and organizing files. S/he will print visas and prepare immigrant visa packages. S/he will also investigate information of DV fraud and abuse, including confirming education credentials and family relationships. Incumbent will back up the two immigrants visa LES.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.      Bachelor‘s degree in Marketing, communication, or other related field is required.

2.      At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, public relations, or other related fields is required. At least one year of experience living in the United States is required.

3.      Level III (good working knowledge) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa is required.

4.      Must have good knowledge of US immigration law and immigrant visa practices required as well as a basic understanding of Indonesian civil and family law procedures.

5.      Must be comfortable working on PCs in a Windows environment and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
