USNS Mary Sears Port Visit

Jakarta, February 20 -- The USNS Mary Sears is one of seven U.S. Oceanographic Survey ships that are part of the 29 ships in Military Sealift Command's Special Mission Ships Program. USNS Mary Sears was the vessel that found the wreckage for the ADAM Air flight that went down en route to Makassar in January 2007. This visit is hosted by the Indonesian Navy’s hydro-oceanographic office, JANHIDROS and Captain John Cousins, Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office and Admiral Willem Rampangilei, Chief Hydrographer of Indonesia.
