U. S. Embassy Expresses Condolences on
U.S. Fulbrighter’s Death

 Jakarta – U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Cameron Hume issued the following statement on the August 3, 2007 death of U. S. Fulbright researcher Nathaniel Gerhart in a motorcycle accident in East Kalimantan:

“The U. S. Embassy expresses its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of American Fulbright grantee Nathaniel Gerhart, who died tragically in an August 3 motorcycle accident in East Kalimantan.  A PhD student from the University of California at Berkeley, Mr. Gerhart was a bright scholar eager to learn about Indonesia, generate knowledge and foster educational exchange.

All of us in the Embassy and the Fulbright program express our sympathy on this sad occasion.”
