Embassy Expresses Condolences on
August 7, 2007 Jakarta – U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Cameron Hume issued the following statement on the August 3, 2007 death of U. S. Fulbright researcher Nathaniel Gerhart in a motorcycle accident in East Kalimantan:
“The U. S. Embassy expresses its condolences to the family, friends and
colleagues of American Fulbright grantee Nathaniel Gerhart, who died
tragically in an August 3 motorcycle accident in East Kalimantan. A PhD
student from the University of California at Berkeley, Mr. Gerhart was a
bright scholar eager to learn about Indonesia, generate knowledge and
foster educational exchange. ***
